Pattern Corrections

Please see below for any corrections or updates for released patterns.

 

Northern Passage

The first printing of this pattern included two diagram‑related errors. These did not affect the written cutting instructions or the cutting table; all measurements listed in the table were correct. The corrections apply only to the diagrams:

  1. Block Diagram (page 1) - The layout illustration was incorrect.
    Remaining first‑printing copies have been updated with a sticker showing the correct diagram.
  2. Fat Quarter Cutting Diagram (page 1) - The cutting layout showed the C2 pieces too small, making it appear that they could fit within a strip the width of a C1 square.
    The correct layout requires a 5 ½" x WOFQ strip to accommodate all C1, C2, and D pieces as intended.
    Again, the cutting table already reflected the correct measurements; only the diagram was inaccurate.

Beginning with the second printing, the pattern includes the corrected diagram along with this updated note:

Fat Quarter Cutting Diagram:
From each fat quarter, the different pieces that are cut will be used in different blocks. Mix and match so that each block uses different fabrics for the B, C, and D cuts.
Cut a 5 ½" x WOFQ strip for C1, D, and C2 pieces.
Cut a 5" x WOFQ strip for B pieces.

Fallen Stars (prior to 2024 revision)

(The updated version states Ver. 2.1 on the back cover of the pattern and is correct)

There is an error in the cutting instructions regarding piece G. 
Piece G should be cut to 2 7/8". (not 2 3/4")

For the Pillow/Runner and Throw sizes, there is an error in the cutting instructions for Fabrics 2 and 3 regarding pieces B and C.

For the Pillow/Runner, the instructions should read:

Fabric 2:

"1 - 4 ½" x WOF strip
subcut into (4) 4 ½" x 4 ½" (C)" (not piece B)

Fabric 3:

"1 - 4 ½" x WOF strips
subcut into (4) 4 ½" x 4 ½" (B)" (not Piece C)

For the Throw, the instructions should read:

Fabric 2:

"2 - 4 ½" x WOF strip
subcut into (12) 4 ½" x 4 ½" (C)" (not piece B)

Fabric 3:

"2 - 4 ½" x WOF strips
subcut into (12) 4 ½" x 4 ½" (B)" (not Piece C)

Fractured Mini Quilt (available through the Modern Makes Membership by Alderwood Studios)

There is an error in the cutting instructions regarding background piece A4. The instructions should read:

"1 - 6" x WOF strip,
sub cut into (2) 6" x 12" rectangles (A4)"
