Vase of Flowers - A Free Quilt Block Pattern

Vase of Flowers – Free Quilt Block Pattern 🌸

This month’s Quilt Block Mania theme is dinner, and I’m excited to share my newest free quilt block: Vase of Flowers! Just like a bouquet in the center of your dinner table, this cheerful block combines three different blooms in a modern vase for a playful, pieced bouquet that will brighten up any project.

About the Design

The block measures 12½" x 12½" unfinished and features three stylized flowers — each one made with classic piecing techniques, so you can mix and match colors or fabric scraps from your stash. The vase base adds a grounding element that makes this block perfect for wall hangings, table runners, or even as the centerpiece in a larger quilt.

Construction Options

You can sew this block using traditional piecing, or try the optional Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) templates included with the pattern. The FPP version helps achieve perfectly sharp points and precise angles — ideal for quilters who love crisp geometry or want a little extra accuracy.
